E-Claims

KSB Dental clients can send electronic insurance claims through Emdeon, a national electronic insurance vendor who has been in the electronic insurance industry for more than 17 years. They have electronic access to all the major insurance payors, including MetLife, and most Blue Cross and Blue Shields, Delta Dentals and state Medicaid programs.

Emdeon Benefits
 Emdeon offers insurance claim submission through either the Internet (with 128-bit encryption) or a dial-up method that does not require an Internet connection. Emdeon offers several advantages over other electronic insurance vendors:

  • ALL Electronic claims are 45¢.  All printed claims are 50¢, and Medicaid claims are 30¢ each.
  • MetLifeTM accepts electronic claims from Emdeon.
  • HIPAA compliant.
  • Emdeon provides reports that confirm claims were sent successfully to the participating insurance companies

 

Emdeon and DataTrac™

 For those offices who currently file electronic claims through WebMDTM, the steps in DataTrac are exactly the same to process electronic claims.  You will run automatic batch or process each claim through the Check-Out menu, and then Export the claims. Once the claims are exported, you will access the KSB Dental electronic claims program.  Before sending the claims, all claims are displayed on the screen. This allows you to delete any claims, if necessary. Once the claims have been reviewed, you have the option to send them by the Internet or a dial-up method.
